The Crow Reboot Trailer
The Crow is returning to screens three decades after Alex Proyas’s 1994 original. After being stuck in development hell for 15 years, a release date for The Crow reboot is here and plenty has already been revealed about the cast and story of the reimagining of the 1989 graphic novel by James O’Barr. The new Crow movie will star Bill Skarsgård in the titular role, bringing the incredibly dark revenge story to life once again with a modern take on The Crow.
The 1994 The Crow movie starred Brandon Lee as Erik Draven, the undead antihero known as The Crow. Due to a tragic accident on set, Brandon Lee passed away while filming The Crow, an event that’s become synonymous with the film's legacy. However, the movie still became a cult classic in its own right, and anticipation for The Crow reboot is incredibly high, especially after it spent a decade and a half in development.

The Crow Reboot Story
A Violent Revenge Story Unfolds Onscreen
The plot of The Crow reboot will follow the original movie and graphic novel. In The Crow, musician Erik Draven and his fiancée Shelley are attacked. Shelley is brutally sexually assaulted, and both she and Erik are killed. Erik is then resurrected by a mystical crow (with whom he shares a telepathic connection) to carry out vengeance. What follows is an incredibly dark revenge story in which the gothic antihero tracks down and kills his murderers one by one.
While The Crow reboot will reportedly deliver a modern take on the story, and is all but guaranteed to make a few changes. Though the core plot is expected to follow the 1994 movie and graphic novel, there are aspects of the 30-plus-year-old story that could use a modern refresh.
